Counting down the days to the Country Music Nashville Marathon. I’m excited for a couple of reason…my oldest son Blair Jr. will be running his 1st marathon, and I’ll be getting to photograph  the event for ASI (Action Sports International).

This will be my 4th Country Music race photographing, and it is always inspiring to watch the runners, hear the stories, and witness the emotions when the runners complete the race. Digital photography makes this much easier, and I couldn’t image how the photographers did this with film. We shoot 7,000+ images, that would equate to a minimum of 200 rolls of 35 mm film. Wow…what a difference technology makes. Will be using my digital Nikon D300, D200, and various lenses depending on my assignment. Cherie Shaft, Jay Sutherland, and the rest of the ASI team are great people to shoot for, a professional and organized group.

Chance of rain 60%, not fun, just have to prepare and be ready.

This is one of the top ten marathons in the US according to the number of runners, north of 30,000. Rumor has it that Toby Keith will be running.
